Nigeria Electoral Early Warning System
To help track early warning signs of election-related violence in the Nigeria 2015, Search for Common Ground is using a system that combines information collected from long-term observers participating in the Transition Monitoring Group's (TMG) Quick Count 2015, crowd sourced data and media reports to identify trends and hotspots of violence in the run-up to the elections. Using a number of indicators that measure common triggers of violence during election cycles (e.g. attacks on election officials, hate speech, clashes between party supporters, etc.), TMG and SFCG are producing analyses of the election environment that will be shared with key stakeholders with the ability to formulate an early response to prevent violence.
